It's a House!

Our house is officially up! I can't believe that they've done so much since we last visited 11 days ago. We have a roof and walls and it's just beautiful. It's more perfect and beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Only 3 months and 1 week until we move in. Can't wait to spend our first anniversary together in our new house! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy:

Megan and Dick

I went to a beautiful wedding this weekend of my old college roommate. Megan and Dick were married in Highlands, North Carolina and it was absolutely beautiful. It's so wonderful to go to weddings and catch up with old friends. If you haven't been to Highlands, I would highly suggest it. It's an adorable, quaint town that Darin and I have put on our list to spend a long weekend. Some pictures from the weekend:

First Anniversary Trip!

We've booked our first anniversary trip! After going back and forth about what to do, we finally decided where we'd go.

We're going to Disney World over Thanksgiving to celebrate and visit Darin's brother, Zach, who will be interning at Disney for the fall semester. We'll be gone for six days and we can't wait!

I wanted to do the ABC anniversary trips like I've heard some people do - where for your first anniversary you go somewhere with an "A", for the second, a "B", etc. However, since we live in Atlanta maybe that could count for our "A trip"? Don't really know if that could count... :)

We Have Walls!

Today was our first meeting with the builder of our house. It marked the official hand off from the sales center/design center to the construction process. So much had changed since we last visited three days ago - our foundation was poured and our basement walls went up this morning!

Our builder's name is Scott and so far he's great! He allowed us to add some last minute electrical outlets (in the master closet) and change some other outlets around without any charges. He's also promised to try and add a cable outlet in the master bath, which I really hope happens because it would be wonderful to watch the news in there while I get ready in the morning.

On another subject, I went to an awards banquet for my company last night. We won the award for Best New Construction in the Southeast Over $100 Million. Then, we won the overall award for best project. More importantly however is that Darin's company didn't win anything! Haha, sorry Darin, just had to throw that in there!

New Blog!

Welcome to our new blog! It seems like everyone has a blog now, so why not us? In an effort to have posts available for the future, I'll try and limit this post to just one update in our life - our new house!

We've been renting an apartment right outside of Buckhead in Atlanta since we got married. We started looking for houses in March just to see what was out there and of course I did not like anything that we saw.

So, after driving around Marietta, we happened upon some signs for a neighborhood in Woodstock. We absolutely loved everything about the homes there and it was a great distance from both of our jobs - how perfect! After thinking it over we went for it and signed on the dotted line.

Our house broke ground about a month ago and the foundation is about to be poured. Check out the pictures that we took when we visited yesterday!
